Worcester Mosquito Spraying Scheduled Tuesday

The Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project has tentatively scheduled truck-mounted pesticide applications in Worcester on Tuesday, August 4, after West Nile virus was detected in a city mosquito trap. The schedule may change because of weather, mosquito populations, virus activity or special-event spraying. The city will notify specific neighborhoods, and residents can opt out through the state exclusion process. If your area is treated, close street-facing windows, keep pets inside from sunset to midnight, remain indoors during application and for 15 to 20 minutes afterward, and wash garden vegetables before eating them.
