One Water Project Advances

A major county wastewater upgrade is now moving ahead for the South-Central Service Area, which includes Gibsonton. Hillsborough County says the new One Water South project will add a large advanced wastewater treatment facility, a major lift station, and new wastewater and reclaimed water pipelines. County leaders describe it as a long-term resiliency project designed to support residents and the environment through at least 2050. While the groundbreaking happened in late April, the project is a significant municipal update that will matter to Gibsonton households well beyond this month.
