Flood Protection Moves Forward

Hillsborough County has approved additional flood protection work that directly benefits Gibsonton, and that is welcome news heading into the summer storm season. The newly approved projects include restoring natural lands to reduce flooding in Gibsonton, a coastal habitat restoration effort along U.S. 41 in Gibsonton, and a hydrologic stream restoration project in the Stacy R. White Nature Preserve area that is meant to reduce downstream flooding in both Riverview and Gibsonton. For families who have worried through recent storm seasons, this is a meaningful county update.
