Lighthouse Program School Year Begins

Bridgeport's Lighthouse Program school year programming begins Monday, August 31, at participating school sites and is scheduled to continue through June 4, 2027. The city says the program operates at 23 school sites and provides supervised educational, cultural, recreational, and enrichment activities for Bridgeport students during after-school hours. Registration remains open throughout the year until sites are filled, and scholarships are available. The program has a minimal fee, but the city states that no child is turned away based on ability to pay. Families can contact the Lighthouse Volunteer Coordinator for current enrollment information.
