Rosenwald Schools Program Explores Mount Dora

A free program on Florida Rosenwald Schools and Mount Dora is scheduled for Sunday, August 23, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the Community Room at 1995 North Donnelly Street. Stetson University historian Sidney Johnston will discuss the Rosenwald Schools movement in Florida and its connection to Mount Dora. No registration is required. The presentation will examine the community-built schools created to educate Black children during the era of segregation and the limited number that remain.
