Mailed absentee ballots for Salem's August 4 Republican primary must be postmarked on or before August 4 and received by the City of Salem General Registrar's Office by noon Eastern time on Friday, August 7, to be counted. Ballots returned in person have a different deadline: they must reach the registrar's office by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.
