Governor's Bay Day Opens Free Beach Access

Governor's Bay Day is set for Sunday, July 26, at four state beaches in Narragansett: Roger W. Wheeler, Salty Brine, Scarborough North, and Scarborough South. Parking at all Rhode Island state beaches will be free that day. RIPTA will also offer free round-trip rides on the South County Express Beach Bus to Salty Brine, Roger Wheeler, and Scarborough from participating communities. Rhode Island saltwater fishing will be license-free through July 26, continuing a statewide free-fishing period that began July 24.
