Whaling Museum Hosts Sailors Series

The New Bedford Whaling Museum's Sailors' Series returns Thursday, August 6, with Captain Jerome Rand sharing the story of a solo, nonstop circumnavigation aboard the Mighty Sparrow. The presentation focuses on his 271-day, 29,805-mile voyage without touching land. The program will be held at the museum at 18 Johnny Cake Hill and gives residents an opportunity to hear a firsthand account of endurance at sea in a city with a long maritime tradition.
