Flood Loan Applications Due August 31

Eligible New York City homeowners, renters, businesses, and nonprofits affected by the significant May 20, 2026 flash flood have until Monday, August 31, to file SBA disaster loan applications for physical damage. The city says homeowners may seek up to $500,000 for primary-residence repairs, while homeowners and renters may seek up to $100,000 for damaged personal property. Businesses and nonprofits may qualify for larger physical-damage or economic-injury loans. The Oakland Gardens outreach center at 73-03 Bell Boulevard closed July 21, so applications now need to be filed online or through SBA assistance.
