Lake Washington Boulevard Goes Car Free
Saturday, July 18, 2026 · Seattle, WA
On Saturday and Sunday, July 18 and 19, the City of Seattle will close a portion of Lake Washington Boulevard to motorized through traffic for Bicycle Weekends. The closure creates space for people to walk, jog, bike, and roll along the waterfront. Residents planning to drive between the Seward Park entrance and the Mount Baker area should allow extra time and use another route. The program is scheduled to continue on selected weekends through Labor Day, with the boulevard reserved for nonmotorized travel during the event hours.
